Where would WCPS be without the amazing professionals who work tirelessly behind the scenes each day? They are the faces of our schools, the voices on the phones, and the supporters of our entire staff. We appreciate all that our administrative professionals do to keep our schools running! #WashingtonWay. @WashCoSuper

Heating/Cooling Update: During this transition time in Spring, it is always difficult to determine when to "switch over" the heat to air conditioning. Once the switch is made, it is very difficult and time consuming to switch back. Therefore, we try to determine the most effective time to make that switch. After consultation with school administrators and staff it was decided to begin the process. All the schools with boilers have the heat turned off and the process of switching over has begun. The schools with cooling towers will be able to have air as soon as the process of cleaning the towers is complete. This process is anticipated to be completed by early next week. Thank you for your understanding, WCPS Schools

Family Fun Night and Student TECHTREK Adventures Thursday marked another successful Family Fun Night, where families gathered for an evening of laughter and learning. In addition to the array of games and activities, each child received a math game, a reading game, and a book to take home, fostering both fun and educational experiences. Families bonded over friendly competition and shared victories, strengthening family ties in the process. The excitement didn't end there. Families and students eagerly awaited their turn with the TECHTREK trailer on Thursday night. As drones soared through the air and robots came to life, participants immersed themselves in a world of technological wonder. With expert guidance from our ITRT team, students honed their skills in drone piloting and robot programming, unlocking their potential as future innovators. While Family Fun Night provided a platform for family bonding and entertainment, Thursday's TECHTREK session hopefully sparked a passion for STEM subjects. Through hands-on learning and real-world application, participants discovered the thrill of problem-solving and creativity, setting the stage for future exploration and growth. The learning fun didn’t stop there. On Friday and Monday, the fourth and fifth graders had the wonderful opportunity to visit the newly built TECHTREK trailer. They were allowed to fly the drones through obstacles and code the Sphero robots. The ITRT staff provided this unique experience for our students. A very special thank you to several Holston High School students who helped make these events successful.
